What is love? has been asked over the years with no single satisfactory answer. This is because different people view and perceive love in many varying ways and take it to mean different things. Love can be described as a feeling, an emotion or a state of mind whose duration and intensity varies depending on the object or person the love is directed to.

One feels tenderness and attraction towards the person they perceive to be in love with and will only see positive attributes in that person, totally ignoring or blocking out all together any negative behaviors or characteristics.

Love is an emotion which comes and goes depending on an individual’s surroundings, moods and general state of mind. A positive, well balanced person is more likely to experience the love emotion more than one who is in a stressful and unsettled environment. Love as an emotion can be directed to people as well as objects and has the ability to be turned on and off depending on the situation.
One can fall in love with a state of the art vehicle for example and will work hard to process and own the car. The happy love affair will continue until the day the vehicle develops mechanical problems or is involved in an accident and can no longer be driven. The love emotion at this point dissolves and disappears faster than a lightning bolt and will more often than not be replaced and directed to a new shiner toy.
Describing love as a state of mind is probably the most difficult as it involves the whole person and not just what they feel. It takes over ones whole being and becomes the centre of their whole universe. Many scholars have over time proved that thoughts are created and developed in the mind and these thoughts in time become real tangible things. The same policy applies to love which when is initiated in one’s mind and given time to develop and grow, will in time become real and tangible enough to affects one way of life.
Love as a state of mind is the most fulfilling, most desirable and most eternal of them all and can grow and last a lifetime if nurtured groomed and cared for just like a beautiful garden which blossoms with flowers and green grass only if tended and watered regularly.
